DTL - A snapshot in October 2024

An overview of DT4 & DT36 stations in progress as of October 2024.

Greetings! We're glad to state that the Downtown Line (DTL) Construction blog is back! Since the completion of the line as first envisioned, several additions & extensions have been proposed, discussed and brought to life. Current projects in progress for the line consist of fitting out the DT4 station and extending the eastern end by 2.2km with 2 stations. We'll take a look at the progress made through October 2024 to commemorate the blog's comeback after 8 years!

DT4 - Hume (Contract 915A)
In a nutshell: The single exit for the station is located between the northbound carriageway of Upper Bukit Timah Road and southbound carriageway of Hume Avenue, with openings onto both roads. The lower opening onto Upper Bukit Timah Road appears to be mostly complete. However, the upper opening onto Hume Avenue require more work to reach completion. A new bus stop shelter has been constructed as part of the contract to complete the station's fit out. Along the southbound carriageway of Upper Bukit Timah Road is the station's ventilation shaft, which is rather utilitarian in design, but appears mostly complete.

DT36 - Xilin (Contract T313)
In a nutshell: The intermediate station on the Downtown Line 3 extension still has some way to go before the station's basic structure is completed. The past month has seen the construction of street level components of the station's exits commence. To date, escalator installation had begun for 1 of 3 exits.
