DTL3 Tunnels 75% Complete

Tunnelling works for the entire Downtown Line is beginning to wrap up with more than 60% of the 40 breakthroughs for DTL3 achieved thus far. Penta Ocean at C933 in particular was able to coordinate the docking of all 4 TBM machines within a span of just a month. Due to difficulties, we are unable to update C926 at this moment. It is expected that all 4 TBMs have been already re-driven, in which we will confirm at a later date. The final TBM launch is expected to be undertaken by GS, for the second launch out of Tampines East station in September 2014.

TBM Theia completes Expo bound tunnel

Today, TBM Theia of C930 completed the Expo bound tunnel from Ubi to MacPherson station. The completed tunnel joins a string of breakthroughs along Downtown Line stage 3 that signal the line inching towards completion day. To date, the longest completed section could see one walking from the Bendemeer station all the way to Bedok Reservoir.
